Brush with Bamboo is the world’s first plant-based toothbrush. Every component of our product is plant-based: bristles, handle, and box.

Brush with Bamboo is a USDA Certified Biobased Product by United States Government’s Biopreferred Program. A purchase of our toothbrush is a vote for biobased products that are not fossil fuel-based.

Verified BPA-Free, Vegan, Non-GMO, Gluten-Free and Non-toxic.

This toothbrush is a perfect replacement for the plastic one. Did you know your very first plastic toothbrush is still alive somewhere on earth as trash since they take 400+years to decompose?

MATERIALS /

Bamboo handle - We’ve created a high quality easy-to-grip curved handle made entirely out of  bamboo. Only wild, giant Moso Bamboo is used for our bamboo toothbrush handles.  At present we are harvesting less than 1% of the possible bamboo resources available in the sprawling Chinese bamboo mountain range where our supplier harvests bamboo.

USDA Certified 100% Biobased Bristles - Their toothbrush bristles are 100% Castor Bean Oil and USDA Certified 100% Biobased – see the USDA Certification and Testing Paperwork here. This means that their bristles contain 0% fossil fuel. Their bristles are made in the European Union. For further information regarding the decomposition process of these bristles, please read their FAQ page.

Care /

The most important step in preventing moistness and mold is to rinse after you are done and dry the bristles and the handle with a dry towel.

To prevent moistness, rinse bristles with water and dry with a towel. Place the toothbrush across your toothbrush holder. Storing the toothbrush in the open air will help to dry out. Enclosed toothbrush cups that collect water are not ideal.

Your bamboo toothbrushes will last 3 to 4 months. With proper care, our ecological bamboo toothbrush will last just as long as a conventional plastic toothbrush. The American Dental Association recommends replacing your toothbrush every 3 months, or when the bristles have frayed.

End of life /

  • Recycle cardboard/paper packaging.
  • Upcycle your toothbrush! Old toothbrushes make great cleaning brushes or paint brushes.
  • Compost toothbrush with bristles
